Green Professionals Conference to Descend on Portland, Oregon

Portland , OR . is well known for its stance on sustainable living both by consumers and by ecologically responsible businesses looking to make a difference. With Oregon recently ranked as second in the nation in terms of its stance on green leadership it is only fitting then that the Oregon Convention Center located in downtown Portland will play host to the Green Professionals Conference from 7:30a.m. to 6:30p.m. on January 26, 2011 .

As a part of promoting renewable technology, resource sustainability and energy efficiency, the conference plans to focus on real-world application of solutions for environmentally minded businesses in areas such as sustainable transportation, high performance buildings and solar energy. With other topics ranging from green financing and ecosystem restoration, the panels will provide a variety of insights for attendees.

Another key component of the Green Professionals Conference is the opportunity for job seekers to network and meet Green businesses looking to hire. Both seasoned green-collar workers and those exploring a new interest in environmental work will find an abundance of resources are available during the conference. Information on tips for finding jobs in the green sector, certifications and training opportunities and insider tips from recruiters are planned to be available to job hunters throughout the day.

With exhibitors ranging from local businesses and utility associations to Oregon colleges with environmental education offerings, the Green Professionals Conference is an annual event that highlights the availability of Green-Collar jobs and attracted over 600 attendees in 2010. Registration is open on the Green Professionals Conference website through January 26, 2010 and fees range from $55 for students to $195 for full conference access.
