Time passed after my first green smoothie and I did not have one again until this year. I mixed fresh pre-washed baby spinach, soymilk and a banana in blender for about two minutes. I drank the smoothie and felt that good feeling I had felt before after drinking it. I decided to do some investigation online to see if other people were drinking this smoothie. Within a few minutes, I learned that many people also have been making these healthy drinks and have seen significant improvement in their health and well being.
I decided to experiment with it. I drank the smoothie every morning for twelve weeks to see just how much better I would feel. The reason I started drinking the smoothie again was because I remember the good feeling I had from drinking it. I was going through a bout of bad depression and thought that maybe the green smoothie would help. When I looked up green smoothie and depression online in a search engine, I learned that the green smoothie did help other people with their depression as well.
During the twelve weeks of experimentation with the green smoothie, I noticed that my skin started looking nicer and had a glow to it. I started looking and feeling younger. I also noticed I was able to concentrate more, I felt less stressed, more energized and in a better mood than I was before I started drinking the smoothies.
I definitely think that my depression got better because of the green smoothies. Spinach is an extremely healthy food. I realized that at the time of my depression I was reaching for any kind of food that was there. That meant me eating a lot of junk food, which is not good. By replacing the junk food with green smoothies, I noticed a significant improvement in my mood. The green smoothie gave me the nutrients that I was lacking to support a healthy mind and body. I noticed I felt fuller after drinking the smoothie so I didn't have to snack on the junk food to satisfy my hunger anymore.
It is not just spinach that will give you the health benefits. You can also use kale or any other dark leafy greens. You can also use other fruits beside a banana or strawberries. I only use a banana because it is cheaper for me to use just one fruit and also because I suffer from anxiety as well and bananas have been known to help calm down the symptoms of anxiety.
You may think that drinking a smoothie with spinach in it would taste disgusting. That is completely not true. The smoothie tastes like whatever fruit you put in it. You do not taste the spinach. There are other things you can add to the smoothie to make it more tasty. Yogurt, regular milk, water, honey and wheat germ are all other ingredients you can experiment with. As long as there is spinach and fruit in the smoothie, you will get the most benefits. It is not recommended to put any other vegetable in the green smoothie though.
I reached the end of my twelve week experiment just a few short weeks ago. The reason I stopped the experiment is because I wanted to see how this change would affect my mood. I noticed that I have more anxiety and am not as calm. I noticed that my spirits are not as high as when I am drinking the green smoothie. I definitely contribute the green smoothie to better health and well being and would recommend others to try it and see if it helps them as well.
