1/3 cup green split peas rinsed
3 cups water
3 tablespoons extract Virgin olive oil
1 small onion diced
1 carrot diced
1/2 teaspoon salt or to taste
1/3 cup orzo pasta
3 cups water
In heavy saucepan add green split peas with three cups water. Put on high heat. Add oil, onion,and carrot. Bring to a boil and cook for twenty minutes. Add pasta and bring to a boil again. Cook for forty minutes adding three more cups of water. Soup will be thick.
