Green Tea + Aloe Hand Wash by Method

Susan Slade
A product I picked up a week ago, was the Method green tea + aloe naturally-derived hand wash. The original price was $3.99, on sale for $2.99, and when I paid for it I got a $2 register coupon, for my next visit.

I really don't like bars of soap anymore, because if they are not rinsed off really well, you can get bacteria on them. So I normally purchase a pump style hand soap, and then a huge bottle of hand soap, and keep refilling it.

I just had to have the Method Hand Wash. First off I loved the tear drop shaped bottle. Walgreens had 3 or 4 different fragrances on display, and the green one looked so pretty, that I chose it. It is 12 fluid ounces (354 ml). The pump style bottle is clear plastic, so the green I could see, was the hand wash.

The bottle can't be pushed down until you release the top to the right. It took a couple of pumps before I got the hand wash to come out. I had already wet my hands, and had water in the basin.

The liquid was a pale green, and I rubbed it into my hands. I continued to do this for 30 seconds, as I used to own a restaurant, and continue with a good hand washing routine. It had an average lather, and less than I had expected from it. I rinsed my hands, and the lather just came away.

I could smell the green tea on my hands, but only when I put them close to my nose. I rubbed my hands together to see what the 'aloe' in the hand wash had done to them. Nothing. They were not dry, but not hydrated either.

I put the bottle in my bathroom, because it is so elegant, and I wanted to enjoy it. I believe that the shape of the bottle, the delicate colors of the hand wash, and the ingredients will get people to buy it.

Their website states:

"Hands so clean, you could eat with them.
it's 4pm. do you know where your hands have been? probably better just to wash them and not think about it. what you should think about is what you're washing with. unless you're already using our non-toxic, triclosan-free and heavenly-scented hand wash. in which case, feel free to give the next person you encounter a high-five. you've earned it."

Knowing that this product is environmentally friendly, uses recyclable materials, and has bidoegradable ingredients, is another reason to buy it.

It is not tested on animals.

I have been using it several times a day for over a week now. I know that my hands are clean, and that is good, because my husband Len and I, have been passing coughs back to one another.

I haven't seen any improvement in the softness, or moisture in my hands, but it hasn't dried them out either.

To be honest, when I have used this up, I will probably go back to filling this beautiful dispenser with my bulk liquid hand soap. It isn't worth paying the extra money, when it doesn't do everything you ask of it.
