Green Tea Extract: The Key to Good Health

Drew Graham
The health benefits of green tea are widely known and many people are finding that the most efficient way to consume green tea is in extract form. Green tea extract is the result of separating the vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and polyphenols from the green tea so that they can be consumed without having to drink the tea. This allows the nutrients in green tea to be concentrated and increases the benefits.

Green tea extract has commonly been used in both over the counter and prescription fat burners for many years. Green tea aids in weight loss by promoting thermo genesis which is the process by which your body generates heat by increasing your metabolism. This means that you will burn more calories just by sitting there which is obviously a huge help in weight loss. Another way in which green tea aids in weight loss is by helping to control your blood sugar, this in turn helps to reduce your appetite.

Although weight loss is the primary reason most people use green tea extract it does have many other health benefits. Green tea is a very powerful antioxidant which helps to slow down the aging process and to reduce the risk of heart disease, cancer and diabetes. Another benefit of green tea is that it helps to improve your immune system. This is because green tea is an effective antimicrobial, which means it kills viruses and bacteria that enter your body before they can make you sick.

Another benefit of green tea that many people over look is that it can help to prevent acne. This is because green tea can help to regulate hormone activity. Although not usually used as a cure for acne, anybody who suffers from acne should consider using green tea extract.

One thing that may deter people from taking green tea supplements is that they normally contain caffeine. In its natural form all teas have caffeine and generally that caffeine is also included in the extract. For people how do not want the caffeine there are decaffeinated extracts available, just make sure you check the label.

Clearly green tea extract has a large number of health benefits and should be used by anybody looking to improve their health. Although normally taken as a pill it is now possible to get green tea through a patch that can deliver small amounts of green tea extract throughout the day.
