The story is familiar all over the celebrity world. In it, a famous person takes a video or picture of him or herself naked, sends it to someone special, then is shocked to see it leak to the rest of the Internet. Normally, the likes of Paris Hilton have to learn this lesson many times over. But this time, nude photos were leaked of a male sports star.
In this case, the Greg Oden dirty pictures were taken a year and a half ago. Back then, the Trail Blazers center took a nude shot of himself in the mirror, and sent it to his then-girlfriend. Yet just now, the nude photos came out to the entire Internet and made headlines for obvious reasons.
Not only were Oden's genitals exposed, they turned out to be quite impressive to a lot of viewers. Still, he had to apologize for the dirty pictures, even though some would say he has nothing to apologize for where it counts.
Aside from that tidbit, the entire ordeal has been the latest setback for the former No. 1 pick. He was expected to be the savior of the Trail Blazers, but instead, has been injured for virtually his entire career. What's more, Portland has managed to save themselves and become a playoff contender without him - although the man they passed over for Oden, Kevin Durant, could have made them more unstoppable.
The Greg Oden dirty pictures are embarrassing, but being injured for his rookie season, and being out for the year in his third season, are even more significant. In fact, since this story came out, it may have reminded forgetful people that he's even still in the NBA.
With these dirty pictures, Greg Oden now joins the ranks of nude Internet all-stars, like Vanessa Hudgens, Erin Andrews, Paris Hilton, and countless others. But given how this trend usually targets young, female entertainers, this scandal is unique.
However, they all have the same lesson that is never learned - dirty pictures are never private anymore in the Internet age.
