Grey Hound Bus Traveling to Dallas, TX

The How-To-Guide on Safety in the City of Dallas

Robert Edwards
The most cheapest and scenic way to travel to your favorite vacation "hot spot" would be by traveling with Grey Hound Bus Lines. By choosing these means of transportation you may see some sights that you were not planning on seeing. In this reporters experience, I have seen the Grand Canyon and Niagara Falls and was surprised because I thought that I would never in my life see these two prominent attractions in the matter of only a few days apart from each other.

There are a few important items to remember while traveling by bus and they are:
a comfortable pillow, a comfortable pair of shoes, snacks, bottled water (or soda, juice, etc...), bandages, sleeping pills, headache medication, sunglasses, sun tan lotion and most importantly your credit/ debit card (try to avoid carrying large amounts of cash with you while traveling by any means).

Traveling by charter bus can either be fun and enjoyable or dangerous and scary. Because a majority of the Grey Hound Bus Stations are located in central downtown areas of most major cities such as New York City, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, etc... it is a very good idea to not wander away from the bus station (especially alone and at night!).

For one instance, as an example, the Grey Hound Station in Dallas, Tx. is home to many of the most dishonest and dangerous people almost all of them are living on the street. You will definitely find alot of hustlers, drug dealers and thieves especially in the late night hours. But do not worry sometimes there is a Dallas Police Officer or a Texas State Police Officer on Patrol, (other times only an armed security guard.) If you were to wonder off across the street make sure that you Do Not Look Like a Tourist !

Now there was one Grey Hound Station that was located in a central downtown area but it was more of a kiosk station and the city by no means was considered a "major city" but the landscape dwarfs Boston, Ma. This city was and still is named Nashua, NH. Now if you were to ever stop in this city make sure you grab a bit to eat at the San Francisco Kitchen for some of the cheapest and tastiest Chinese food ever. Then you could go across the street and get a nice serving of gelato from the corner ice-cream parlor.

Nashua, NH is a quaint and quiet city that has alot of restaurants and lounges. Also, the landscape is beautiful and all of the people there are pleasant, kind and courteous. This reporter never had any problems in this city especially during the late night hours, but as always you must Be Careful and Aware!

Traveling from Northwest to Northeast can almost always become an adventure for those looking to see some of the most beautiful mountains ranges in the country. Travel from San Francisco to New York you may stop in Reno as well as pass through the Rocky Mountain range and even see Niagara Falls.

The question still remains though, "Should you travel by bus, plane or train?" Well those are simple answers, depending on the situation. Travel by plane if you need to reach your destination quickly and be "trapped" in the hustle and bustle of an airport. Travel by train if you want to spend a ridiculously large amount for a ticket and meals. But if you are of the adventurous type, want to save alot of money to get to the destination of choice and want to see this great land that we call the United States then traveling by means of charter bus is definitely for you. Go Grey Hound!
