My complaints about Greyhound is that first of all, their buses are usually very old, dirty and don't smell that good, also for over-nighters and day trips it can become quite cramped and sweaty.
The toilets on board are way below standard and usually are downright disgusting, my advise is if you want to do something, do it before you get on board as just the site of those toilets will most probably make you feel sick.
Another complaint I have is the type of people that travel Greyhound are usually lowlifes, and sometimes can get very loud and even violent (Which happened a few times on buses I was on), I have also heard stories of people getting their bags ripped off, or being pick-pocketed while they slept.
Sometimes buses can be so packed that even people with tickets can't get on and have to end up waiting up to 24 hours for the next bus.
At times the bus drivers can also get very rude and nasty, which makes for a very bad journey, although for the majority the drivers were at least decent.
It seems that the people who run Greyhound are more interested in making as much money as possible, instead of making their customers have an enjoyable trip, and for this I do not respect the Greyhound corporation at all.
This article is not promoting or putting-down the Greyhound bus service, it is just intended as a review of the time I've spent on their buses and you can draw your conclusions from the points I've given you. If you don't see Greyhound as how you want to travel, there are far better options such as renting a car, taking a train, or even flying, so at least know that your options aren't limited
