Will Alex turn up as Izzie's own true love? He may decide to give it one more try. After all, he seemed to realize what he had given up when Izzie fell for patient Denny Duquette. Alex showed some regret at that point and clearly wanted an opportunity to get Izzie back, in the end he was a major supporter of her in the aftermath of Denny's death. Remember Alex carrying a distraught Izzie in her prom dress? While Denny seemed to clearly have been the love of Izzie's life, he died so he is out of the picture. Alex's weird relationship with the amnesic patient last season ended so he is a free man. Alex and Izzie have gone back and forth from the beginning and thought hey are hot together, they're kind of boring. A relationship with Alex could kill Izzie's character and turn her back into the Barbie doll character she started out as in season one.
Will Izzie continue the "love me love me not" tug of war with George? There was some minor backlash from fans over the George, Callie and Izzie triangle in season three and this may have caused the writers to reconsider that direction. Is it possible that we may not see any Izzie-George love this season? That would be a shame because there is so much material to be written and drama to explore here. My prediction is that this is the way the season will go, with the continuation of the "Gizzie".
Rumor has it that George, having flunked his exams, is going to be Meredith's' intern in season four. With Callie as Chief Resident, that means George is two levels down from Callie which should and could make for some interesting marital moments. George will be tempted to go to his best friend Izzie for support, but with Izzie reporting not to Callie, things can get very sticky. Fans seem to have a love hate relationship with Callie so the writers could go in either direction, for or against Callie. Callie has always been more in love with George than he with her. That's the tragedy in that relationship. Callie will likely put up quite a fight for him if she feels the continued Izzie threat. Remember, we learned last season that Callie is a wealthy girl and she may put her money to use this season. Izzie inherited a boatload of money when Denny died and it's likely that the clinic she donated and dedicated in Denny's name will pay a part in the season four storyline as Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) finds her calling at Seattle Grace. Izzie's donation and dedication could give Callie some ideas. The clinic Izzie funded in Denny's name could be trumped by something bigger by Callie, perhaps something in George's deceased father name. And if that happens, how can George leave a wife that puts a wing on the hospital in his dad's name? He's just too good a guy for that, right?
