Grey's Anatomy Season Finale - Didn't We Almost Have it All

May 17, 2007 Episode - Didn't we almost Have it All

Thank goodness television is television and real life is boring in comparison. Grey's Anatomy's May 17th, 2007 episode "Didn't we almost have it all" exhausted me. I couldn't take much more than an hour of that, and it did run fifteen minutes longer than a regular episode. That was weird, I didn't really get that. They couldn't have cut a couple of scenes or maybe a couple of commercials?

I love Grey's, but it is a bit of a soap opera. This episode was intense with romance and failed romance. What I found interesting was that it was the guys that were all such emotional wrecks. I felt bad for all of the men. Every single one of them. Derek is aware that he is loosing Meredith, though his is kind of vague to me. Why exactly are they breaking up? I think it has something to do with the fact that she didn't swim when she was drowning in that February episode. Alex looses Rebecca/Ava, though I always felt that the relationship was kind of creepy and weird. Basically, Alex gave a woman with no memory, a new face, and a new name and saved her baby. Then he starts to fall for her. Gave me the chills. Alex needs therapy. And when she tried to make a pass at him, he rejected her because he was mad about her husband being here, I think.

Richard, the Chief fears he has lost his wife/ex but learns she survived, though they lost the baby that he didn't know she was carrying. They are such an unlikely match anyway. They are separated, she's in her 50's and he's a doctor. How did she get pregnant? Preston lost Christina, though I thought his decision to call off the wedding because she didn't walk down the isle quick enough was a stretch. After the unbelievably romantic wedding vows he wrote, and then read to all the female doctors and nurses, how could he walk away form her so quickly?

Izzy and George are such beautiful tortured souls. They belong together. George's wife Calli wants to get pregnant because she knows George loves Izzy. What a storyline that will be for the future. I predict that George leaves Calli. We know that Calli got the job as Chief resident, so of course she's going to be really mean to Izzy. Maybe Calli won't want George once she finds out he failed his intern exam. Fortunately for George, he has two rich women fighting over him and could probably live off either one of them at this point. Yet, his big puppy dogs eyes make him look so darn sad and irresistible. I love George, except the whole cheating thing bothers me.

Oh my, I started out thinking all the Grey Guys were so sensitive and caring. I felt bad for them. In retrospect, actually they are all sick, controlling babies who throw temper tantrums and dump the women when they don't get what they want. Wow, and if the doctors weren't enough, the writers had to insert that whole actual medical situation with the hikers and the ax in the head. What was that about? Are they trying to turn this in to a medical show or something?
