Grey's Anatomy: Where Are They Now?

Fall Preview Review

Lynne Chandler
Grey's Anatomy two hour season premier is set for September 24th. In the sixth year running, it is clear there are major changes coming down the pike for several of the cast members.

The finale saw Izzy riding an elevator dressed for the prom. Everyone thought Denney would be on the other side of those doors when they opened, but the surprise came when George was standing there in full dress uniform. The hesitation of Izzy to leave the elevator told us that one of them would be staying at Seattle Grace while the other would not. Over the course of the summer, we have learned that indeed Izzy played by Kathryn Hiegl will remain and George played by T R Knight won't. His demise will be the catalyst for at least one doctor on staff.

Other changes will occur with the post-it note wedding between Mer and Der. Her real-life pregnancy will be shot around as they are not quite ready to bring a McBaby into the mix just yet. It will be interesting to see what effects the post-it note wedding have on the couple who already struggle with trust issues.

Christina will continue her relationship with Dr. Owen Hunt. These two created the steam for which Grey's started in the first season with the passion that rose from the screen in season five. They are a match like none other and their commitment to each other and their blossoming relationship will build during season six.

Dr. Bailey is a hard one to know. It will be interesting to see what they do with her character this next season. She is tough and can withstand most anything, but with the loss of George, she could be the doctor most affected since her home life is in turmoil.

It is sure to be an exciting season. New surgeries, new doctors (perhaps), romance and intrigue. Be sure to watch the two hour Grey's Anatomy on September 24th and bring your tissues.
