Not only is the show controversial because of the story lines, love triangles, and personal baggage the characters bring, but the actors have their own fair share if issues. The feud between T.R. Knight and Isaiah Washington has come to an end, because Washington was fired from the show. (He can now be seen on the first five episodes of Bionic Woman.)
Grey's Anatomy ended last season with T.R. Knight's character losing his father, and being in love with two women. He failed his exam and was leaving the hospital. After all who would want to do their residency again? His wife Callie was pushing him to get a job at another hospital in hopes that George's relationship with Izzy would end.
Hoping to learn more about the upcoming season, Ellen Degenerous invited T.R. Knight to the show. When he arrived on the set of Ellen, he looked very dapper and showed his manners, waiting for Ellen to sit down first. Since he doesn't do a lot of talk shows, Ellen was pleased that he came on her show. She began the interview talking about his being at the Emmys and his friendship with Katherine Heigel, who recently gave T.R. an adorable puppy for his birthday. You can see T.R. and Arrow on the front cover of The Advocate. He laughed about taking her to a doggie daycare, Go Dog L.A., while working, but feels guilty about the amount of hours he is away and says sometimes he just sees her on the weekends.
The subject of being in a relationship was brought up and T.R. jokingly said that he was not in a relationship because either he is working too hard, or he is unlovable. Ellen asked T.R. if was feels happier since he came out, and T.R told her that he feels like he has learned a lot this past year. Ellen then asked him his opinion about people who have not come out in this business. He simply stated that he respects them, and that he knows what it is like to be in there shoes. He stated that people have to wait until they are ready. There's a lot of soul searching, and it has to be the right time.
And the time for the new season of Grey's Anatomy is here. What can we see from George? T.R. says he can't say much, except that George is repeating his intern year and he has had a tough time of it. George O'Malley is now an adulterer and a failure.
"Sometimes I open the script and I'm like "Ohhh no, really? It's the humiliation of George O'Malley."
Grey's Anatomy airs on Thursday nights at 9 p.m. Eastern time on ABC.
