Greystone Lodge in Gatlinburg, Tennessee at Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies: Review
A Great Place to Stay in the Heart of the Smokies
Greystone Lodge not only offers normal guest rooms, but also offers cottage and cabin rentals as well. The cottages feature a variety of amenities including fireplaces, Jacuzzis, balconies, and kitchens. Unfortunately, we didn't have the luxury of staying in one of the cottages but the normal guest room made our stay in Gatlinburg very enjoyable. Our room was clean and spacious and had a good size refrigerator, great for keeping our newborns bottles. We also had a small patio that overlooked a river and wooded area, which was home to ducks, birds and even some squirrels. It was very relaxing to come back to the room after a long day of entertainment. Of course the clean pool was another great addition to the fun!
The weekend we stayed was during the Smokey Mountain Tunes and Tales event. The city sponsors the festival all summer long which provides live entertainment nightly from 5 - 10 p.m. Located right across from the hotel was one of the "stages" which hosted dancing and singing, a great hit for our three year old!
Parking for the hotel is great! They have their own convenient parking garage with elevator access that is actually attached the guest rooms. Taking luggage to the room and back to the car is a breeze. It was especially an added bonus since it was pouring the rain when we arrived for our stay.
The only thing I was a little disappointed with was the "deluxe breakfast". Other than the advertised "Biscuits and Gravy" it's pretty basic breakfast food. Also every morning there was a huge line to get into the breakfast area and sometimes not enough seating for everyone. Many people saw the line and walked away to find alternative breakfast choices.
Overall, we were very happy with our stay at the Greystone Lodge. If you are looking for reasonably priced lodging with great amenities and attractions I would suggest the Greystone Lodge!
