Grief

Tony Jingo
The depth of darkness may never end. It hurts to think of hope around the bend.
It just can't be! Why her and not me?
Please dear Lord while I'm awake, take me now for my hearts sake!
This grief I cannot bear. But I must! For it's the living that looks at me with trust.
I will soldier on, for I promised her so. Oh, dear Lord with her I wanted to go!
Oh, my dear sweet Jo.
Ah, but alas it's more than just me.. it's the precious few that add up to three.
John and the girls can count on me.

Never saw this before Tony. What touching sentiment of love, family and devotion. My condolences and best wishes to all her family.

Not only an intellectual historian but an emotional poet, you write beautifully on both counts.

I lost my Sister in 1986. Experiencing the loss of a loved one, or anyone in our daily life changes us. It changes you, maybe we move on, not necessary getting over it. It just changes everything that you knew with a new normal. My sympathy goes out to you and your family, and sorry that I didn't see this sooner.
