Grilled Chicken, Mushroom & Spinach Lean Pockets Review

Amy Brantley
I was a fan of Hot Pockets long before there was a Lean Pockets line. As I've gotten older, I've come to appreciate lower fat and calorie products and Lean Pockets is a favorite of mine. I love that they can quickly be heated in the microwave and served with some chips for a quick meal. While shopping for some quick heat meals, I stumbled across the Grilled Chicken, Mushroom & Spinach flavor of Lean Pockets. It sounded absolutely delicious, so I decided to give it a try.

First things first. I love the whole grain crust that is found in some versions of Lean Pockets. It's chewy and seems much more filling that the regular crust. It's also quite tasty and pairs wonderfully with this filling. Speaking of the filling, I loved the flavor of the sauce that the chicken, mushrooms and spinach were tossed in. It was garlicky and creamy and certainly didn't taste lean at all. I do have to admit though that these Lean Pockets were a bit lean on the filling. This product contained about half the filling I'm used to seeing in these products. Still, it was extremely tasty.

One Grilled Chicken, Mushroom & Spinach Lean Pocket has 240 calories, 6 grams of fat, 3 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams of trans-fat, 20mg of cholesterol, 480mg of sodium, 38 grams of carbohydrates, 3 grams of fiber, 9 grams of sugar, 10 grams of protein, 4% of your daily Vitamin A, 20% of your daily calcium and 10% of your daily iron. Certainly not bad for a heat and eat product.

I would have to give the Grilled Chicken, Mushroom & Spinach Lean Pockets 4 out 5 stars. I'm knocking a star off because they are a little sparse on the filling. Other than that, this product tastes so decadent, you'll never realize it's lower in fat and calories than most heat and eat items. If you need a quick meal, I highly suggest this product. These are perfect to take to work and store in the freezer. While your coworkers are eating high fat fast food, you can enjoy a delicious meal with a fraction of the fat and calories.

Thanks for the review. I must admit that I don't eat Hot Pockets. My last experience wasn't the best, so I don't buy them anymore.

To be truthful, I didn't like Hot Pockets and it seems Lean Pockets may be too lean to like, too.
