The Forney location is closed on Sundays and Mondays. Their store hours are Tuesday-Friday 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday's from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Their phone number at the Forney location is (972) 552-1565. If you are near Forney, this is a great place to stop and shop. The staff is very friendly and helpful and they don't work on commission so you won't be attacked the moment you walk in the door!
Christi and Robert Foster opened the Groovy's Forney location 7 years ago. They recently moved from Forney to Heath and they own 2 other Groovy's stores. The other 2 locations are in Arlington and Rockwall. You can see more about Groovy's by clicking their website here.
Groovy's definitely appeals to women, but they do get men coming in looking for the perfect gift for their wife or daughter. Half of the store is seriously kid oriented, with items like candy, Hello Kitty, princess pillows, and lots of charms. They also have hand made chokers with stars, hearts and crosses, which are some of their most popular sellers. They do have some children's clothes for the toddler age, but have primarily switched to selling women's clothing. Groovy's carries the ultra popular Webkinz stuffed animals, Vera Bradley purses and lots of lip gloss. They also sell Tyler Candles which smell incredible.
In the other half of Groovy's you can find cool picture frames, Yellow Box flip flops, and a variety of designer jeans in many brands. They have women's shirts and hats, sufficiently glimmering with sequins and those without. As far as prices go, the store has everything from $2 magnets to $150 designer jeans, and every price in between. When I bring my nieces to the shop, they always head to the expensive items, until I politely guide them to items under $20.
While speaking to the young woman working at the shop, she mentioned that the Rockwall, Tx. Groovy's store is less for kids and more for teens to adult women. If you like the Ed Hardy brand, that may be the store for you to check out in Rockwall. The phone number for the Rockwall store is (972) 722-8004. I haven't been to the Rockwall shop yet, but I intend to visit soon!
