Gross Scary Halloween Party Games

SE
Halloween parties are fun, but there's more to them than costumes and candy. Try these Halloween party games for some extra fun.

Try a gross food guessing game. Use five nontransparent bags lined with plastic. Put a different food in each bag: mashed bananas, peeled grapes, stick pretzels soaked in water, cooked spaghetti, and orange peels. Pass each bag around and have kids stick their hand in and try to guess the food. (No peeking!) Other foods can be used, especially if they feel slimy or squishy.

A mummy wrapping contest can also be fun for Halloween. Party guests compete in pairs - kids get one toilet paper roll per pair, and adults or older kids get two. One person uses the toilet paper to make their partner into a mummy. The first pair who uses all their toilet paper wins.

'Killer instinct' is a Halloween variation on hide and seek. Whoever is "it" is the killer, and as they find people they "kill" them. Once you've been killed you have to go to the cemetery, a designated room in the house.

'Worst makeover ever' can be a fun Halloween game. Divide your party guests into small groups, and give each one a bag of makeup. One member of each team will be given a makeover. The makeup artist who gives the worst makeover has to receive a makeover from the rest of the party guests.

At your Halloween party, try telling scary stories. On index cards, write lines that would sound good in a scary story. Then, in a darkened room, people take turns drawing an index card and making up a scary story based on the one line from their index card. As each person draws a card, they build on the story that the partygoer before them told.

This next Halloween party game would be better suited to adults or older children. Gather a bunch of props - fake blood, fake weapons, plastic skeletons, etc. Divide the props between two groups and have each team create the scariest scene possible. If the weather is cooperative, do this game in your yard so that clean up is easier.

Test your friends this Halloween to see who's a good witch. Get plastic or rubber bats, and put a spot of color on the bottom of each. Then put them in a cauldron. Have your party guests sit in a circle. One person is the witch, and everyone else draws one bat from the cauldron. The witch tries to guess the color on each bat. Each player gets a turn as the witch, and whoever has the most correct guesses is the witch with the strongest ESP.
