Groundhog Day

Mike Powers
Will Phil
See his shadow
On mountains of fresh snow
At Punxsutawney? And does it
Matter?

Will Phil
Be able to dig his way out
Of his underground home
On Groundhog Day?
We'll see!

Of course it matters! We put great stock in all groundhog prognostications here in PA.

Happy to see Phil but not his shadow today! I also watched the movie Groundhog day to celebrate! Fun poem!

No early spring for us this year!

One of these days, good ol' Phil is just gonna hit the snooze button, sleep all day, and give up looking for his shadow or anything else.

Whenever I have watched this on tv I never managed to see the groundhog, let alone whether he saw his shadow or not. Just seems every year that winter goes on and on whether he does or not. I am ready for things to warm up already.
