Grumpy, Old Mr. Spider Comments on President George Bush and the Flying Shoes*

Old Mr. Spider, gathered his children to his side.

Listen my children, about the time,

Over in Iraq, Muntazu al-Zaida,sent both shoes flyin'.

The President ducked, as past his head they zipped.

He never seemed to lose his grin, but he nearly got his hair clipped!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hey, Mr. President, howdy-do!
I wrote this poem to tell you
What I think of you, and those two fast-steppin' shoes!
Let me tell you, it really made the news!
You over in Iraq at that podium,
Not saying one bad word t' him
After he hurled his shoes at you.
You stayed calm as a statue!
You even seemed to smile,
You walked that extra mile!
Even though there could have been somehing in those shoes,
Besides the usual, PHEW!
MR PRESIDENT, I'M PROUD OF YOU!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

And Mr. Muntazer al-Zaida,

To me you're no folk-hero,

You acted more like the Emperor Nero.

Bush was listening. You could have told him how you felt.

I thought a news corresopondent in ideas, dwelt.

TO ME YOU ACTED LIKE A GREAT BIG ZERO!

Sincerely.

G.O. Spider

    I like this alot! I'm not a fan of Dubya and his handling of the past 8 years either, but he showed alot of class and restraint. Ya know, if that man even THOUGHT about throwing his shoes at Saddam Hussein, he'd have been.......well, never mind!
