G-Spout Product Review

The g-Spout is an "As seen on TV" product. Their website states that: The g-Spout is a multipurpose utensil; it is a removable spout or strainer that easily attaches to a skillet, pot, bowl or can. Made of high temperature food-grade silicone, the g-Spout is microwave and dishwasher safe.

The g-Spout is recommend for use with straining grease and oil from a pan while cooking; for pouring dry ingredients without mess or spills; for straining pasta from it's boiling water; and for other opportunities outside the kitchen like pouring automotive fluids or with pouring paint from a pail.

I had never seen the product advertised on television. I first saw and purchased my g-Spout from The Lakeside Collection. The price was good at $6.95 for one, but the g-Spout product website has the opportunity to purchase one and get another for free just pay the shipping and handling. The two for one price was $9.95 with the addition of shipping and handling for two products. I imagine the two for one deal might be a better choice. It would at least afford you one for the kitchen and another for the garage, keeping your foods safe and sanitary from cross contamination.

I used my g-Spout for staining grease from browning ground beef. This traditionally can be a messy process. I would pour off the amount of grease that I could and then use paper towels to sop up the rest of the grease from the pan. With the g-Spout, I attached it to my pan, poured off the grease and didn't have to worry about loosing some of the ground beef during the straining process because the g-Spout held back the ground beef and the silicone didn't alter form from the extreme grease heat. I then removed it from the pan and placed it right into my dishwasher on the top rack where it was cleaned easily with the next run of the dishwasher. The heat from the dishwasher didn't alter the silicone's shape, and the g-Spout was ready for it's next use.

I am happy with my purchase. I would definitely recommend the g-Spout as a handy kitchen utensil. It made straining grease a much easier task and although it is an additional object to clean, clean up was easy. Storage space needed is minimal but definitely something to consider because it doesn't fold down in size or collapse. Not matter where you choose to purchase a g-Spout, the price is reasonable and affordable for a product you will continue to find new uses for.
