The first single off Back To The Traphouse is the Freaky Girl Remix featuring Lil Kim and Ludacris. The single is a remix to Gucci's very successful single Freaky Girl. After hearing the track Ludacris instantly wanted to jump on the song. Lil Kim delivers one of the best verses in recent memory and Ludacris drops a very solid verse as well.
On Drink It Straight, Gucci is joined by R&B singer Trey Songz. The song just falls flat. The beat borders on grating on the ears. The chorus delivered by Trey Songz just is not memorable.
I Might Be features The Game and Shawnna. The song is definitely darker than most of the tracks on the album. The beat features dark synths over a minimalist southern beat. The Game delivers a very solid verse which is expected from one of the best rappers in the game. Shawnna joins Gucci on the chorus.
G-Love (U Don't Love Me) features R&B singer LeToya Luckett. The song is definitely the most commercial track on the album. The album has R&B crossover appeal. The song is the traditional thug in love song. LeToya adds a strong chorus which makes the song more pop leaning.
I Know Why teams Gucci Mane with Rich Boy, Blaze-1 and the recently deceased Pimp-C of UGK. The song features a very catchy beat which adds to the listening experience. The late Pimp-C delivers a strong verse as does Rich Boy.
Bird Flu features a very different sounding beat. The track is perfectly acceptable but there just is not much to it.
The Nitti produced I'm Cool is one of the better tracks on the album. The song is reminiscent of Nitti's work with Yung Joc. The song is overall very solid.
On 16 Fever it sounds like Gucci is prepared to go to war against his opponents. The beat definitely has a war-like feel to it.
Overall Back To The Traphouse is surprisingly better than expected. The album features several solid tracks. Overall Back To The Traphouse gets 7.5 out of 10. If you are a fan of Gucci Mane, make sure you pick up his new album Back To The Traphouse when it is available in stores.
