1. Wash the face with soap. Apply a pea size amount of lotion to the face. Now your face is nice and clean!
2. Drawing perfectly shaped eyebrows can be difficult. Take a round sponge, that's usually used to apply foundation, and cut it in half. Place half of the sponge under your natural brow-bone, or eyebrow. Make sure the sponge is facing straight-edge up. Position the sponge, so the corner is in the same spot as your tear duct. Eye brows should always start where the eye begins. Use an eyebrow pencil, or pen, to draw your natural eyebrow shape onto the sponge. The highest part of the eyebrow curve should be directly above your pupil, the darkest part of the eye. From the curve, draw the end of the eyebrow. You can trim the sponge once you have a basic shape drawn. The straight-edge of the sponge should be kept, the part you drew on, while the bottom portion is trimmed off. Once you've cut out your eye brow sponge you can place it back under your brow bone. Use an eye brow pencil to trace along the edge. For the other eye simply turn the sponge over. Adjustments can be made with a tissue or Q-tip.
3. Eye shadow is best when not noticed. Make-up is suppose to help enhance your beauty, not make you look like a coloring book. White colored shadow is the only thing you need! The best spots to place white eyeshadow are corners of the eyes, on the brow bone (under the eye brows), and above the center of the top lip. Highlighting these places makes your face glow, eyes seem brighter, and lips appear larger. White eye shadow can also be used to cover up red spots from acne.
4. Lips look best when natural. A lip gloss with a little color is suitable. I prefer vaseline on my lips. If you use lip liner always make sure it makes your lip stick exactly. Use a lip brush and never your finger to apply lip products. A brush allows the lip color to disperse more evenly.
5. Mascara should be a natural color like black or brown. Water-proof is the best option if you're worried about rain, or smudging. Pull the mascara wand out of the tube. Wipe the wand onto the side on the mascara case, or in a tissue. Position the mascara wand as close to the base of the eyelashes as possible, and move the wand in a back and forth motion. While moving in a back and forth motion, pull the wand forward. This is the best way to get thick eyelashes without clumping the mascara.
6. Eye liner should be close to the eyelash base. Use an eyeliner pencil or angled brush to apply eyeliner. Dipping an angel make-up brush into a dark eye shadow is easy. Close one eye and apply the eye shadow by dabbing, not dragging, the angel brush along the base of the eyelashes. Many short dabs are better, because eyeliner isn't suppose to be perfectly straight. For applying eyeliner with a pencil, pull the corner of your eye out a little and apply short strokes of pencil along the base of the eyelashes. Never apply eyeliner in the tear ducts. Eyeliner is best started at the beginning of the pupil.
That's all you need to look naturally great! I didn't include foundation and blush because I don't wear those. Skin should breath. A simple sunblock is another good option if you are outside for long periods of time. I love Dove's new campaign for beauty. We're all beautiful, make-up just helps to show it off.
