Miami has many hotels for Spring Breakers. This article will show you five hotels to stay in for your time in Miami during spring break.
1. South Beach Hotel. At this hotel, you're in the center of the Miami Spring Break action. When you stay in Miami, where you really want to stay is in the South Beach district. This is where everything happens. If you stay somewhere in Miami in general, you'll have to take expensive cab rides to your South Beach destinations, day and night. From this hotel, you can walk to any nightclub or restaurant in South Beach.
The South Beach hotel was built in 1939, and has since been restored. The rooms in this hotel have more room than many of the other South Beach hotels. Think of New York City, Manhattan. If you stay there, you're basically paying per square inch, or at least it feels like it. Space is limited, and so rooms are smaller. This is the way that South Beach works.
The nice thing about this hotel is that it is right across the street from the beach. You can walk outside of your room and be at the beach in under a minute. The location is in the heart of the Art Deco District in South Beach. Additionally, there is a nice courtyard with actual grass, which is hard to find in South Beach.
The prices of the room range from $200 to $300 per night. You will pay towards the high end of this price during spring break. Some of the nicer rooms may cost more than this price. If you can afford it, this is one of the nicer accommodations in South Beach. Currently there is a promotion for a 10% discount for stays of three nights or more.
Each room has a computer and work space with internet connection. There is cable television and central air conditioning, both of which may be important for college students. Outdoor dining is available in the courtyard.
2. Hotel Chelsea. This hotel is also located in the Art Deco South Beach district. You are two blocks from the beach at here. Stays of five nights or more get a 15% discount per night on room rates. One advantage to staying at this hotel is that you get VIP passes to some of the local nightclubs.
The Hotel Chelsea is located on Washington Avenue. The hotel itself is decorated in Feng Shui style. Each room has cable and a place to play cd's. You will also find a full bath, not just shower, in the bathroom. Happy Hour is complimentary at this location. If you're a nonsmoker, this hotel has become nonsmoking. You can only smoke outside.
The prices are around $200 per night for the rooms. If you book during spring break, your credit card is actually charged at the time of reservation. Cancellation policies are stricter during this time.
3. The Kent Hotel, located on Collins Avenue in South Beach (this means the beach is across the street). This hotel is nice for young people and college students on spring break. There are bold, vivid colors as the background for the lobby and rooms. Breakfast is complimentary. One value for spring breakers is that there is a laundry service, for all of you out there who don't plan on washing any of your own clothes during your vacation travel. The Kent Hotel has its own garden, with orange lounge chairs under a banyan tree.
This hotel also gives you VIP access to the Miami nightlife. Internet access is available in each room, as well as a flat screen television with a dvd player.
As for pricing, the rooms in March and April are generally about $150 per night. If you stay March 26 to March 28, you will find the prices between $200 and $250 per night. This is higher pricing for spring break travel times.
4. Century South Beach. This hotel is found at the Southern end of South Beach. It has direct access to the Ocean. Century South Beach has a business center with eight computers. What this means is that you can check your email and browse the internet for free without having to lug around your laptop. Continental breakfast is also complimentary.
The staff is multilingual, which works well for those who speak English as a second language. Beach towels are available. Pets are allowed at this hotel. This is great for those who can't leave Fido at home in the dorm for a week straight with noone to watch him. However, keep this in mind if you have pet allergies. A standard room costs $150 to $200 per night. Double rooms are a little more.
5. The Chesterfield. This place is, really, just neat. It's a cool place to stay. The first cool thing you'll find is a rooftop sundeck. That's something rare to find! Room service goes until midnight, which is helpful since many spring breakers don't even get out of bed until five pm after partying all night long. The bar in the lobby happens to be open until 5 am!
You can get $50 off the room per night, or a discount of up to $15 percent off each night, depending on when you book and how many nights you stay. Make sure to book at the South Beach Group website.
The Chesterfield is one block from the beach, also located in South Beach. In addition to being a hotel, this hotspot is also a spa. You can use the gym for under $20 per day.
