Daytime Summer Weddings
There is so much flexibility in daytime attire, which takes some stress out of choosing an appropriate summer dress. Sleeveless choices are perfectly fine in moderation and will keep you cool on warm summer days.
This simple and elegant blue striped knit by Nicole Miller has tank straps and a crew neck, but fits the body snugly to show off your curves with a gorgeous tailored look. It has a just-above-the-knee length skirt and the fabric is a great blend of rayon, nylon, and spandex. This is a great choice for casual or outdoor weddings.
For a more romantic daytime look, this pretty mint green brunch dress by Walter is perfect for a formal summer wedding, whether it's indoors or out. It has a scoop neck with ruffles, short ruffled sleeves, a band at the waist, and a just-above-the-knee length A-line skirt.
Nothing says summer like a splash of orange. This stunning tangerine sleeveless dress by Carmen Marc Valvo is knee-length with an eyelet hem, has a darted skirt, and a wide scoop neck. Made of a linen, cotton, and nylon blend, it has a classic style absolutely appropriate for a daytime summer wedding and many other summer occasions as well.
Go out in style with this slightly retro sleeveless block color shift by Tara Jarmon. This summer dress is both stylish and contemporary. Since it's not too formal and not too casual, it's perfect attire for a daytime wedding. The colors are eye-catching but not too bold, with blocks of green and white in a polyester and rayon blend. It has a square neckline and a just-above-the-knee straight skirt.
Evening Summer Weddings
Evening weddings are typically more formal than daytime weddings, but don't let that worry you. There are many fashionable summer dresses in evening wear. Check out these examples and find one that suits your style.
Warning: You just might outdo yourself with this one. This is an absolutely gorgeous sleeveless green and white classic by Sara Clarie and Esther. It has a round gathered neckline with button accents, a shirred waistline, and a just-above-the-knee fitted pencil skirt. The shimmery fabric is made of rayon and acetate and the dress is lined in silk.
Seeking elegance? This lovely sleeveless purple sequined dress by Cynthia Rowley will keep you dancing all night at the reception. It has a scooped and slightly gathered neckline, a banded drop waist, and a flowing skirt that falls just below the knee.
A rose by any other name...could not compete with this exquisite rose-colored dress by Tara Jarmon. This 100% silk beauty is sleeveless, has a flowing knee length skirt, and a gently scooped neck. It will flatter your form with a gold belt around a drop waist. While it may be simple in design, it's a classic that will endure.
Is this a formal gown affair? If so, keep it simple, sunny, and not too revealing. This gorgeous sleeveless and backless yellow gown by Sean Collection meets all three criteria and will give the bride some serious competition. With shoulder straps and a cutout neckline, you won't have to worry about what your showing in front besides your glittering smile. Did I mention glitter? This one sparkles with beads on the straps and bodice. The skirt has a gentle flow that will make you seem like you're gliding across the dance floor.
