Guide to the Best Summer Music Festivals

The blazing sun, more trips to the beach, and a splash in the pool. Summer brings us many things, including summer music festivals. From the ting tings to Vampire Weekend, from Philadelphia to New Orleans; the excitement will carry on in your memories for years to come. The following are the top 10 summer festivals that will surely rock your world.

Some music festivals are profit only, but some like Popped Music Festivals for a "sound environment" are simply out there to help. Standard admission is $30 online or $26 the day before the show at the box office at 33rd and Market Street in Philly. Summer Music Festivals generally have a wide range of genres of music. Music festivals like Popped have mainly alternative bands and artists such as the Ting Tings and Vampire Weekend. Popped will be in Philly from June 20th through the 22nd.

Bonnaroo is another one of those summer festivals that are going green. Like the festival above, Bonnaroo is one of those music festivals that are going to the extent in creating a perfectly sustainable festival. Also, each ticket bought is a $1 donation to charity. As summer music festivals go, $23 is not much for a ticket. Artists like Snoop Dog and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs will perform at this music festival. Not all summer festivals are all about music. For instance Bonnaroo is hosting many comedians as well. Bonnaroo will be in Manchester, Tennessee from June 11th through the 14th.

In Detroit, Michigan Movement 2009 will be featuring artist like Carl Cox and Ellen Allien in a music festival of 36 hours straight of music. This summer music festivals attendance is projected to be around 80,000 people. This music festivals tickets are selling for $40 in general or $150 for VIP. Therefore if the loud crowds and booming music isn't your scene, movement 2009 is most likely not one of the best summer festivals for you.

Of all the summer music festivals I've come across, Essence, in New Orleans hosts the most notorious artists like LL cool J, Kanye, and Rihanna. The prices of tickets typically vary but the average price tends to linger right around $50. Essence like most music festivals take place in early July; the 3rd to 5th to be more specific.

Rock the Bells is luckily one of those summer music festivals that travel all across the country. They make stops in 10 widely spread cities like Las Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, and New York City. This summer festivals featured artists include Spank Rock, Big BOI, Common Busta Rhymes, and many more. Tickets range from the 28th of June, to the 9th of July. The Pitchfork music festival held in Chicago, IL starts on July 18th and ends on the 20th. This summer music festivals hosting artists like Public Enemy and Vampire Weekend. Tickets are sold for $35 each, no additional fees. As far as music festivals go, that's fairly cheap.

The Wakarusa festival has one of the most convenient locations of all summer festivals. Kansas being in the middle of the country is fairly easy to travel to from most places; around a half-day trip. Artists like STS9 and CAKE are performing from June 5th to the 8th. This music festivals tickets are typically more expensive than most others hovering right around $60.

In George, Washington the Sasquatch Music Festival will be held May 24th through the 26th. Tickets are crucial to buy ahead of time since this summer music festivals tickets go up by $10 each time period sooner to the performance itself (they start at $58 and go up from there). And Last but certainly not least, get caught up in one of the world's largest music festivals in Milwaukee, Wisconsin! Starting June 25th 700 bands will be playing for 11 days straight. This summer music festival is sure to leave you wanting more. Bon Jovi and many other artists like him will be playing at the Marcus Amphitheater. Pricing of tickets at this festival certainly blow away any other at $15 per adult and $3 for children.
