If you feel you are physically sound to use an infrared sauna, find somewhere for you to try out before you buy. This could be a gym or a beauty spa -- both usually have an infrared sauna or two. Try it out and see if you like it before you buy an infrared sauna. If you have decided for sure that you would like to purchase one, make sure that you have room in your home and make sure that the area you would like to put it in is not humid -- for safety reasons.
Decide which kind you would like to buy. There are several types of infrared saunas. One may be for you, while the other could be the complete opposite of what you want. There are two main varieties that are easy to find: The regular infrared sauna and the portable infrared sauna. The regular infrared sauna, or cabin, is usually quite large and expensive. But they are usually made to look like a cabin and are quite comfortable -- they also come in multiple-person sizes. The portable infrared sauna is much cheaper and takes much less space than the larger, more impressive varieties. The portable varieties are usually a sort of tent you sit in with holes to stick your arms and head out of the tent for comfort. Whichever style you choose is up to you, as they both provide the same treatment with different frills.
Getting to actually buy infrared sauna is the hard part. There are sites all over the internet to buy them, but how can you tell their quality? Look for reviews on sites other than the ones selling the saunas and keep an eye out for a deal that seems too good to be true. Also do not jump on the cheapest one you can find -- you could be shooting yourself in the foot that way. Keep your excitement under control and be patient -- you'll find an infrared sauna for you at a decent price if you are a smart shopper.
