Buying a new scooter can be a little over whelming if you don't know what your looking for. Today picking out a new scooter can be as difficult as picking out a new car. But if you take a little time and do some research it will make the whole buying experience a bit easier and more pleasant. Plus when your looking online you don't have the pressure of a salesman following you around. So here are a few things to look for when picking that new scooter.

First of all you need to decide what kind of scooter you want, just like a car you need to decide if you want a more top of the line with all the options and comfort or do you want a more sport scooter or maybe you just want a base model commute scooter. We will call these models the Cadillac, Mustang and Hyundai's of the scooter world.

First we will review the Cadillac models of the Scooter world. Honda Silver Wing is the little brother to the famed Gold Wing. and just like big brother Honda gave the Silver Wing everything from a windscreen Anti lock breaks and the Honda V-Matic automatic transmission. And to add to the appeal the Honda gets about 45 mpg. The Silver Star starts at $8199.

Next I reviewed the YamahaTMAX or the Mustang model scooter. The Yamaha TMAX offers a 499cc liquid cooled 4 stroke and a CVT double-cog V-belt automatic clutch. The TMAX also has a 4 gallon Fuel tank and gets about 47 mpg. This Stylish Beauty can be your from $7,999 but it is definitely one of the best new scooters on the market today.

Now for the Hyundai's' of the scooters. Like Hyundai cars these scooters aren't bad or even lacking. The only thing is that they aren't made by big name companies like Honda or Yamaha. These affordable scooters can range from touring Scooters like the Silver Wing, sporty scooters like the TMAX to just a plain old striped down motorized scooter.

Pony 50 is a basic model 50cc scooter. No big names no big prices here. You can get this for around $1000 and then you see the mpg 80-100. With its fully automatic transmission and electric start this baby will go about 35 mph. This is the perfect new scooter for a budget.

GS Tracer 150 is a sporty scooter thats about 1\8th the price of the Yamaha TMAX. it also features a fully automatic tranny a 149cc air cooled Motor and a top speed of about 65 mph. All of this at a price around $1300 and a mpg of about 60-70.

The Touring 250 Deluxe is as close to the Honda Silver Wing as you can get with out the big price tag. It has a 250cc liquid cooled motor, automatic transmission and electric start. The Touring 250 Deluxe gets a 60-70 mpg and a top speed of around 70 mph. This baby will only set you back around $2300, not back compared to the Silver Stars starting price of $8199.
