Guide to California's Best Honeymoon Destinations

Tammy Mahan
California is a great place to spend your honeymoon. If you are looking at Southern California, you have several options to choose from, The Hollywood area is great for any couple who would enjoy the opportunity to meet their favorite celebrity or watch their favorite TV show being filmed. Right in the heart of Hollywood Boulevard is the famous Roosevelt Hotel, home of Marylyn Monroe's ghost. A poolside honeymoon suite with all the amenities you could imagine including daily messages and in room, hair and make up services will cost you $2000 for a week. Included in that price is a room next door to almost any celebrity, the opportunity to watch the rich and famous at play as this is where they stay.

You will not be bored if you never leave Hollywood Boulevard. This three mile long street is home to hundreds of shops and boutiques, museums, theaters, comedy clubs and night clubs as well as a spectacular view of downtown Hollywood and of course the Hollywood sign.

While staying at the Roosevelt Hotel you can have the car brought around to take you shopping on Rodeo drive or to Griffith Park where you can visit the Los Angeles Zoo, Observatory or one of several museums housed in the national park.

Moving towards the beach, Malibu is a great place to stay if sun, surfing and shopping is what you have in mind. At the Malibu Beach Inn a four star hotel you will be pampered with spa treatments, a private cabana, mini bar, a hot tub and fireplace in your suite 24 hour room service from one of two restaurants. A week of luxury here will cost you $1800.

Heading north, you have Big Bear, a great place to honeymoon any time of year. You can enjoy piece and quite and nature at it's greatest. The Big Bear Chateau reasonable priced at $ 500 a week offers all the usual amenities of a three star hotel including a restaurant and shopping and entertainment within walking distance. Skiing in the winter months, fishing and water activities in the fall, spring and summer seasons.

California has a lot to offer for the happy honeymooning couple these are just my personal favorites.
