Steps:
1. Click on the Start button on the left-hand bottom side of your screen.
Note: This button is the one that has the windows logo on it and is all in lowercase letters.
2. Look for the Control Panel link on the menu that comes up after hitting the Start button and click on it.
3. Once you are there, look for the User Accounts link and click on that.
Note: If you have your Control Pannel in Classic View, then look for the icon called User Accounts and double click on that.
4. Once you have the User Accounts window open, click on the account that you would like to alter.
Tip: You can alter any accounts picture if you are the administrator.
5. Once you have arrived to the screen that says "What do you want to change about your account?" select "Change my picture" and another screen will come up.
6. In the screen that comes up you will be able to chose another picture from the ones available there, or you can chose to browse your computer for one that you have.
7. When you have chosen the picture that you want, click on "Change picture" and then close up all the other windows that you had opened.
Note: If when you are done changing your picture, you are not comfortable with the way it looks, you can repeat steps 1-7 to chose another one or to go back to one of the original ones.
Tip: Chose a picture that you're okay with others seeing for your account, as all other computer users will be able to see it at startup.
Now that you have read the steps that you need to take, go ahead and try it yourself. Changing a profile picture can help you to have your computer just the way you want it, and just think about all of the pictures that you can alternate from now on as your profile picture.
