1. Take about 30 cm of floss.
When flossing, you should use 30 cm floss. This is just enough so that you can use clean section of the floss in every space between of your teeth.
2. Wind the end of the floss around your middle finger.
Wind the ends of the floss around your middle finger so that it won't slip. You can control the impact of the floss on your gums so that it won't bleed.
3. Start Flossing by the use of your thumb and fore finger.
By using your thumb and forefinger, gently floss in a sawing motion between teeth and the gum lines.
4. You should reach the edge of your tooth from the gum line to properly remove hidden stains.
If you are not flossing your teeth and gum regularly, it would be normal if it bleeds because our gums are not used to the impact of the floss. However, if you will do it always, at least two times a day, your gum tissues will become stronger and healthier until such time that your gums will never bleed when you are flossing.
Here are some tips on how to maintain the health of our gums and teeth.
1. -Eat a balance diet. It is important that in every meal you will include foods that are rich in calcium. These foods can help make our teeth strong.
2. -Reduce foods with high sugar content. Foods with high level of sugar content can greatly affect our teeth. It causes our teeth to break easily and become prone to bacteria that causes tooth decay.
3. -Make sure to get rid of stains and particles between your teeth. If you can't be able to brush your teeth, it is advisable to swish some water or else use the floss to take away the food particles left between your teeth.
4. - Drink water everyday. It will help a lot to avoid dry mouth that causes bad breath.
These are just some tips on how to take care of your teeth and gums. Flossing is one of the ways to make your gums and teeth healthier and stronger. It is really advisable to floss your teeth at least 2 times a day to prevent stains from the gum lines from being stored.
