Guide for Google Toolbar Download

For Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox Browsers

Are you interested in downloading the Google Toolbar into your internet browser? If so it is a very simple process that only takes a few minutes to complete. Follow these easy steps and you will be up and running in no time.

Internet Explorer Directions

*If you are using Internet Explorer as your browser of choice in your browser's address bar type

*You will first need to insure that your system meets the requirements. These requirements can be found on the right side of the screen

*After you determine that your system meets the requirements click the Blue Install Google Toolbar on the right side of the screen

*When the next page appears you will be asked to read and approve the Privacy Policy. After reading the policy select your country and determine whether you want Google as your homepage and/or default search engine. After making your selection click the agree and download button on the bottom of the screen

*Next a box will appear in the middle of the screen and you will be given options for run, save, and cancel. Select Run from the options.

*You will then be asked if you would like to run the software. Select Run

*Google Toolbar will then download and your browser will restart allowing you to use your new Google Toolbar.

Firefox Directions:

*If you are using Mozilla Firefox as your browser in your browser's address bar type in

*Once you have reached the Google toolbar page make sure that your computer meets the system requirements outlined on the right of the screen under the large download google toolbar button. If your system meets the requirements you can proceed to the next step

*Press the blue Download Google Toolbar button on the right of the page

*The Google Toolbar Privacy Notice will appear on your screen. After reading the Privacy Notice select the Agree and Install Button under the notice.

*Your Firefox Software Installation Box will appear on the middle of the screen to remind you that you will be downloading something onto your computer. Click on the title google-toolbar-win-xpi then at the bottom of the box click on the Install Now Button

*The Add -ons box will appear and installation of google toolbar will begin. If you are using a DSL or Cable connection it should only take a few seconds to complete the download.

*The final step in installing Google Toolbar into your Mozilla Firefox browser is to close out all of your Firefox windows. The Google toolbar will be active when you restart Firefox.

*When you restart Firefox for the first time after the download you will receive a notice from Google thanking you for downloading the product. At this point you will need to select your country from the drop down menu and determine if you want to use Google as your default search engine in Firefox and if you want to allow downloads from Google. If you want these make sure the boxes are checked. Also you will be asked if you want to participate in Google's Page Rank program. Select the box for your choice. Once you have done this select the finish button in the bottom right of the box and you are finished. You can start using Google's Toolbar right away.
