Guide to the Hottest Womens Shoes Under $50 for Fall 2009

Sophia S. Mark
Finding shoes for the fall season that can be worn with end of summer styles and warmer fall wear takes some skill, but open toe heels, detailed flats, casual booties and platform wedges are all great options. Women's shoes that fit your budget, at under $50, are out there if you know where to look.

Here are five of my favorite women's shoes for fall 2009 that are under $50 and where to find them.

Nine West Lover Girl Ballet Flats, $30
Ballet flats are a fall staple, and this season's styles are embellished, colored and far from boring. The Nine West ballet flats are detailed with fine stitching and a chunky metal buckle over the toe. The Lover Girl flats are smart enough for work, chic enough for a night out and at just $30 you can afford to get one in every color; navy blue, olive, pearl, brown and black. www.ninewest.com

Madden Girl Raleigh Ruffled Platform Bootie, $49
The Madden Girl booties bring together three of the seasons popular styles, without creating an overwhelmingly trendy shoe. If you are ready to sport the must have ruffles on your feet, these are the booties for the job. The platform pump style pairs well with ankle booties and some of the color options, the royal purple and black, are great paired with short fall styles, such as shirt dresses and mini skirts with tights. The beige shade is great to wear in everyday setting with jeans and a tee. www.dsw.com

BCBG Paris Disha Leather Studded Heels, $49
These BCBG caged heels are a sexy play on the more laid back gladiator sandal style. Played up with thick leather straps and flat, gold colored studs, your feet will be sitting on four inch stacked heels that seem like they never end. They can be worn with more casual styles, but I have seen them work with more dressy and flirty dresses that are perfect for taking you from summer into the fall season. www.dsw.com

Grey Slouchy Studded Suede Boots, $25
The Slouchy Suede boots from Go Jane come in four different colors, grey, black, brown and purple. While the purple suede is my personal favorite, the grey is perfect for Fall 2009. The color and style make it the perfect boot for back to school styles, pairing well with skinny jeans because of the height and slouchy appearance. Stud detailing up the side keeps everything interesting and gives your outfit a little edginess. With hardly a heel to speak of, you can get away with wearing these comfy boots everyday and at just $25, every budget can afford at least one pair. www.gojane.com

Bandolino Open Toe Roll Up, $48
Open toe heels are much easier to work into your wardrobe than say, an open toe sandal or end of summer flats. These Bandolinos can take you from the last of summer to the end of Fall, and for just under $50 they are a total steal from this designer. With a mock platform wedge heel and buckle detailing, the Roll Up style is sure to become a staple this fall. www.zappos.com
