Haunted Attractions for Halloween in the Hoosier State

Haunted houses, corn mazes, haunted hayrides, and other terrors, spook Indiana this 2007 Halloween season.

The Asylum House
German Park

Greenwood, Indiana

Victims of The Asylum House will experience 'Fear and Fetish in the Dark' in 2007. Five haunted attractions include: The Original Asylum House, Nightmares in 3D, Camp Crystal Lake, The Crypt of Elysium, and Hellraiser. Proceeds from The Asylum House benefit the Greenwood and White River Fire Departments, a local food pantry, and other regional charity organizations.

Dates: October 5 and 6, 12 and 13, 17 through 20, and October 22 through 31.

Hours: Sunday to Thursday, 7 to 10pm; Fridays, Saturdays, and Halloween Wednesday, 7pm to Midnight

Admission: $18.50 and tickets can be purchased online.

Haunted Hotel 13th Floor
515 N. Jefferson Street
Huntington, Indiana

The old Warwick Hotel has a dark history with a frightening 13th floor. The Huntington Jaycees transform the hotel into a haunted house each Halloween season. Eileen Dietz best known from the movie, The Exorcist, will make an appearance at the Haunted Hotel during its 2007 opening weekend, both September 28 and 29.

Dates: September 28 and 29; October 5, 6, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 27, 31

Hours: Thursdays and Sundays, 7pm to 10pm; Fridays and Saturdays, 7pm to 11pm

Admission: $9 and tickets can be purchased online.

Shadow Asylum
949 North 10th Street
Terre Haute, Indiana

Wabash Valley's most intense haunted house, Shadow Asylum, rebuilt its sets in 2007 to offer new scares to its victims. With special effects and gruesome monsters this haunted attraction is absolutely terrifying and not appropriate for children.

Dates: October 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 20, 25, 26, 27, 28

Hours: Thursday and Sunday, 7pm to 10:30pm; Fridays and Saturdays, 7pm to Midnight

Admission: $6 for general; $12 for VIP

Fear Fair Reno's Revenge
Freeman Field Municipal Airport
800 A Avenue East
Seymour, Indiana

The Seymour Jaycees present a haunted house that gets scarier each Halloween. In 2007 they added 'Legends of Horror' to pay tribute to classic horror movie characters like Jason, Michael, Freddy and more. Fear Fair Reno's Revenge takes place in an old World War II army barracks.

Dates: September 28, 29, and 30; October 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, 28, 31

Hours: Sundays and Halloween, 7pm to 11pm; Fridays and Saturdays, 7pm to Midnight

Admission: $10 for adults, $8 for children 12 and under
A coupon can be printed online; $1 off Fridays and Saturdays, and $2 off on Sundays.

Fright Manor
350 Anniston Drive
Southport, Indiana

Fright Manor presents two haunted attractions for one admission price. The House is a haunted house filled with bloodcurdling screams, demented clowns, ghosts, and more. Psychomanthium in the other haunted attraction featuring goblins, ghosts, and more gory sights.

The actor, Courtney Gains, who played Malachai in the horror movie Children of the Corn, will make an appearance at Fright Manor the last weekend of October. He will be signing autographs from 7pm to 11:30pm on Friday and Saturday, October 26 and 27.

Dates: October 5, 6, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20, 21, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31

Hours: Fridays and Saturdays, 7pm to Midnight; All Other Nights, 7pm to 10pm

Admission: $15 for a general ticket, $25 for a speedpass
Tickets must be purchased at the haunted house location, but a $1 off coupon can be printed from the Fright Manor website.

Hanna Haunted Acres
7383 East Hanna Avenue
Indianapolis, Indiana

Hanna Haunted Acres features 5 separate haunted attractions in 2007 including the classic haunted hayride, the Entanglement corn maze, and the newer haunted trail Hell's Half Acre.

Dates: September 28 and 29; October 5, 6, 12, 13, 14, 18, 19, 20, 21, 23 through 31

Hours: Sundays through Thursdays, 7pm to 9:30pm; Fridays and Saturdays, 7pm to Midnight

Admission: $27 for a combo pack for all 5 haunted attractions.

Haunted Castle

Fort Wayne, Indiana

Halloween 2007 will be the last year that the Haunted Castle and the Black Forest Super Maze and Vortex, presented by the St. Vincent Boy Scouts, will be held in their original location. Tickets are being auctioned on EBay to be one of the last 12 visitors through this current location of Fort Wayne's Haunted Castle this 28th year running.

Dates: September 27 - 30; October 4 - 7, 11 - 14, 18 - 21, 25 - 31; November 1 - 3

Hours: Sundays through Thursdays 7pm to 9pm; Fridays and Saturdays, 7pm to 11:30pm

Admission: Haunted Castle $8; Black Forest $8; Combo ticket $14; VIP Pass $5

    Exploration Acres is North Central Indiana's Largest Corn Maze. From 7pm - 11pm on October 16,17,22,23,24 and 30th Lafayette Jefferson High School will present the "Haunting". The $15 admission fee gets you access to a haunted barn, woods, maze and all other attractions which includes 4 other non haunted mazes. Visit explorationacres.com for details.

    The atmosphere is creepy, and cool! It is a great, outdoor experience with a bon fire...We LOVE it!
