Sled Dog Races
What's better than watching a sled dog race? Watching two sled dog races, of course. The Race to the Sky and Darby Dog Derby are two races worth watching near Missoula.
Race to the Sky
The biggest sled dog race in Montana, the Race to the Sky runs February 12-17, 2010 and celebrates its 25th year. It starts at Camp Rimini War Dog Training and Reception Center near Helena, Montana and restarts around Lincoln going to Owl Creek and back for a total of 350 miles over mountainous terrain. Darby Dog Derby

Snowshoe Adventures
Strap on your snowshoes and head out to McCormick Park on February 20th and March 20th. Starts at 10:00 am. Cost is $21 which includes transportation and snowshoes. (406) 552-6271

Cross-Country Ski Trip
Montana Wilderness Association Ridgerunners is holding a cross-country ski trip for all abilities on February 27th. They're planning on meeting at 8:00 AM in Missoula and carpooling to Seeley Lake. It's being held at the Seeley Creek Nordic Center and plan on a day of skiing. They're returning to Missoula by 6pm. (603) 767-3125.
