Craps is a very popular casino game where players place bets on specific rolls or types of rolls gambling the person rolling the dice will roll a favorable outcome. The game of Craps is played on a large table at he casino, but for home, all you really need is a small table or just the simple layout on a 2 X 6 piece of green felt. Although a felt craps table surface is sold relatively cheap, you can make a craps table surface for free using materials from around the house.
For the homemade craps table craft, you will need:
Six empty cereal boxes
Twelve sheets of green construction paper
Duct tape
Pencil
Black and red markers
Yellow crayon, pencil, or marker that shows up on the green paper.
Homemade Craps Table Craft step #1:
Open the bottom of the cereal box. Find the seam on the side and split or cut it open. Now find a seam in the middle of the cardboard and trace the size of two sheets of construction paper, one on each side of the center seam. The dimensions of the large cardboard rectangles should be roughly 16X11. Tape the squares together to form a large cardboard rectangle. The rectangle should be roughly 48X22. Try to keep the seams even to allow for easy folding.
Homemade Craps Table Craft step #2:
Tape the paper together in the same manner as you did the cardboard. If the paper has a less desirable side of it, tape that side as it will be the bottom. Then take pieces of duct tape and fold the pieces of tape over themselves to make double sided tape. Fasten the double-sided tape to the cardboard and them press the paper to fasten it.
Homemade Craps Table Craft step #3:
Now you will want to design the layout for your craps table. A google image for craps table layout should give you a multitude of different layouts. Select one that is simple yet has enough fun options. Also decide on your odds. The odds vary per version of craps table, with some versions having better odds than the others. Sketch out the "zones" on the craps table, using your center seam as a guide for the center of the middle (Hard bets, craps, etc area) and then draw the pass lines and numbers/come/field areas. Using pencil allows you to alter as necessary.
When your lines are in place, use black permanent marker to define all your outlines. Any letters or numbers that are red or yellow will show up better if outlined with black. Fill in with color the red or yellow characters. And yes, this is your own craps table, so you can draw a little devil figure next to the "7" square if you so desire.
You now have a homemade craps table. Now it's time to get out the poker set, place your bets, and roll some dice.
