Start with boiling water and allow your tea to steep for two to three minutes. If you use sugar sweeten the tea first, and stir. Now add your half and half, milk, or soy milk. Vanilla flavored soy milk eliminates the need for adding sugar or sweetener. If you are watching your calories read the labels of fat free half and half, which may contain corn syrup. Keep testing different types of Chai tea, until you find the perfect recipe for your taste buds. Flavored soy milk, usually does not contain any corn syrup or white sugar. Many grocery stores offer soy milk flavored creamer as an option for your hot drinks.
On the Go
When you are making tea, why not make enough for a few large cups of tea. Purchase of search your cupboards for large spill proof insulated drinking cups. Warm up your tea, and add your favorite sweetener, milk, and spices. Place spices such as cinnamon into a shaker jar, to prevent messes. Make sure that your top is secure. A better quality cup, will give you years of comforting hot drinks. Carry tea bags and a clean insulated cup with you in your car. Many gas stations and restaurants charge less than a dollar for hot water.
Tea is a great healthy alternative to drinking coffee. Choosing Chai tea recipes with low sugar and fat can help you to loose weight. Quality tea may cost a few dollars more per pound, but it will be well worth it in taste and aroma. Invest in a high quality insulated cup, to save hundreds of dollars a year in drink costs.
