In order to understand how they work, you need to understand the role estrogen plays in ovulation. Just prior to ovulation, your body will surge estrogen. This can happen up to 72 hours prior to ovulation occurring.
Saliva ovulation testing measures a rise in estrogen. The saliva predictor microscope predicts fertility by detecting the estrogen changes that occur around ovulation. When you look through the microscope at a dry saliva sample, you are looking for crystal patterns that is a result of an increase in estrogen.
These crystal patterns indicate that an estrogen increase has occurred which is what happens just prior to ovulation. After identifying a positive crystal or "ferning" pattern, ovulation will like occur within 24-72 hours.
Collect a saliva sample from below your tongue, place it on the lens of the microscope, let the sample dry, and then look at the result through the lens. When you are infertile, the saliva will look like bubbles and lines.
The benefit to using saliva ovulation kits is that they are affordable. You purchase the microscope once and it is reusable. Ovulation Predictor Kits are not reusable and can cost a small fortune over time.
Another benefit is that it is more convenient. Ovulation Predictor Kits require placing urine on the stick and then waiting for the line to develop. It can be really messy. With a saliva kit, you need only apply saliva to the tube and let it dry.
It is also discreet. It generally appears as a tube of lipstick and can easily be carried in a purse or handbag.
The ease of use is also a great benefit to using them. Simply apply the sample, wait five minutes and check the result. No longer do you need to interpret the darkness of ovulation predictor kit lines or whether the test line is the same width and exact color or darker than the control line.
Trying to conceive a child is a difficult time financially. It is smart financial advice to look at the least expensive routes as possible. Why not look into saliva predictor kits? Then you can save your money to buy diapers and toys for your new little bundle of joy.
