Although the beach can get crowded on very hot days, it is big enough to find some room no matter how big your group is. It is a great place to start or finish off your day while in Santa Cruz. Despite being only a stairways walk down from where all of the rides are, the beach is wide enough to separate yourself from the loud noises of people screaming on the different rides.
One of the nice things about the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is that admission is absolutely free. Anyone can walk along the boardwalk at anytime without having to pay. Of course, the amusement rides is what costs money, but it is fairly inexpensive if you spend the entire day there enjoying the Northern California sun.
For $26.95, you can get an all-day unlimited rides pass. For $34.95, you can get the all-day unlimited rides plus package which includes a choice of adding any two of the following attractions at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk to your day: miniature golf, laser tag, bowling, Fright Walk, Climb 'N Conquer, or 12 arcade tokens. If you only want to go on a few rides, then you can also buy individual tickets to ride rides. The rides cost on average anywhere between one and four dollars. If you look around the internet for coupons or at local stores though, it is very easy to find ways to save as much as $10 off of a day pass.
Some of the top rides at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk are:
Cyclone - a ride that whips the standing riders around
Tsunami - a ride that takes riders speeding through a circular track and then shoots them right back through the track backwards
Hurricane - a rollercoaster that has so many crazy turns and banks that many riders miss out on the ocean views
The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk has a great mix of rides for all ages. The other attractions such as the bowling, the arcades, and miniature golf are all nice things to do during your day at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk making it a great place for a trip with family or friends.
