Let's say you've headed into Bath and Body Works for a body cleanser. Sounds simple enough. But wait... there's shower gel, creamy body wash, and bubble bath. And there's body scrubs. Which do you choose?
Shower gels are designed to be a light, everyday cleanser that provides great fragrance. The shower gels refresh and condition skin and are recommended for daily use with all skin types. If you just want a basic cleanser, this product is probably the best choice.
Creamy body wash is also designed to provide gentle, fragrant cleansing. This product provides more lather than a shower gel. The creamy body wash also has more moisturizing properties. This product can also be used on all skin types, but is recommended for those with dry skin.
Bubble bath will also moisturize your skin. This can be used daily, although I doubt many of us take a bubble bath every day. If you (or the person you are shopping for) enjoy the occasional soak in the tub, this would be a good product to add to your shopping bag.
Body scrubs also cleanse and moisturize. Unlike the shower gels, creamy body washes or bubble baths, the scrubs contain granules. These granules exfoliate the skin, leading to softer, brighter skin. Body scrubs are a good choice if you have flaky skin or want a product to use on trouble spots like elbows or heels.
Once you have decided which product is best for you, you still have to pick out a scent. If you don't already have a favorite Bath and Body Works scent, you'll have a lot of choices. The scents fall into three categories: fresh flowers (like freesia or plumeria), luscious fruits (like cucumber melon) and sensual exotics (like warm vanilla sugar or sensual amber). Knowing which type of fragrance you like will narrow your choices and make selection easier.
Selecting just one cleanser isn't necessary either. You could get a shower gel and a bubble bath, and/or a body scrub for trouble spots. Your choice depends on you and your skin. Once you know what your skin care needs are, picking out a Bath and Body Works cleanser should be easier.
