Guide to Spring Training in Jupiter, Florida

The World Series Champion St. Louis Cardinals and the Florida Marlins both play their Spring Training schedules at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter, Florida. Located at 4751 Main Street in Jupiter, Roger Dean Stadium has been the preseason home of the Cardinals since 1998, and the Marlins since 2003. The ballpark opened in 1998, and has a seating capacity of 7,200. Here is a guide to Spring Training in Jupiter, Florida.

Both the Cardinals and Marlins players practice at the Roger Dean Stadium complex. Minor Leaguers for both teams also practice at the complex. Players for both teams report in mid-February, pitchers and catchers a few days ahead of position players.

You may purchase tickets for either the Cardinals' or Marlins' exhibition games at the Roger Dean Stadium Ticket Office. Or you may order by phone by calling TicketMaster at 561-966-3309. Ticket prices are as follows: $24 for Field Box seats; $22 for Loge Box seats; $10 for Bleachers; and $5 for Standing Room Only. Tickets for premium-priced games may cost an extra buck or two.

Staying in Jupiter, Florida, during Spring Training? Local hotels include: the Holiday Inn Express on U.S. Highway 1; the Jupiter Beach Resort on North A1A; and the Best Western on U.S. Highway 1. In nearby Juno Beach, you will find the Hampton Inn. And in Palm Beach Gardens, the Palm Beach Gardens Marriott.

Local eateries include: the Jupiter Ale House at 126 Center Street; Charley's Crab of Jupiter on North U.S. 1; And Alforno Italian Restaurant on South U.S. 1.

The World Champion Red Birds will begin their Spring Training schedule on Monday, February 26, with a home exhibition game against Florida Atlantic University. The Cards will then take on the Marlins in the first of five scheduled preseason meetings on February 28. The St. Louis Cardinals will host the New York Mets on Friday, March 2, and Sunday, March 18. They will take on the Atlanta Braves on back-to-back dates on March 11 and 12. The Los Angeles Dodgers will come to town on Thursday, March 15.

The Florida Marlins will begin their Spring Training schedule on Tuesday, February 27, with a home exhibition game against the University of Miami. The Florida Marlins will host the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday, March 6. Willie Randolph and the New York Mets will visit Jupiter, Florida, to take on the Marlins on Friday, March 16, and Saturday, March 24.
