Guide to St. Louis Haunted Houses

This 2007 Halloween season St. Louis features nationally acclaimed, top notch haunted houses. The haunted house production company, scarefest.com, presents The Darkness and Creepyworld, with Hollywood quality sets, special effects, and gory realistic horror scenes.

The Darkness

The Darkness is St. Louis' top rated haunted house and is located next to the downtown, historic Soulard Market. Aol.com and Hauntworld.com ranked The Darkness "Third Best Haunted House in America" and the St. Louis haunted house has been highly rated by national media such as USA Today, The Today Show, and National Geographic Channel. The Darkness is a two story haunted house filled with demons, vampires, a vortex, a mirror maze, special effects, and more to frighten St. Louis this 2007 Halloween season.

October 5 through 31; November 2, 3, 2007
Hours: Fridays and Saturdays 7pm to 1am; Sundays through Thursdays 7:30 to 10:30pm; Halloween night hours are 7:30pm to 12:30am
Admission: $15 for adults; $12 for children under age 11; $22 speed ticket for adults; $16 speed ticket for children

Creepyworld

Springdale, Missouri

This St. Louis haunted house bills itself as "world class" and crews have been working continuously for 11 months to create this haunted adventure. Creepyworld is four haunted attractions in one location near Fenton, next to Kollar Plastics. Creepyworld's offers a Halloween themed line in front of the Haunted Mansion with a Pumpkin patch, food, spooky music and more. Raven Manor is Creepyworld's haunted house and exits into a haunted cornfield. Hornbuckel's Cornfield is filled with creepy scarecrows, a pumpkin monster, and an old farm house. Creepyworld's next haunted attraction is the new Tombstone Haunted Hayride with Hollywood quality special effects. Silo-X haunted house is the terrifying highlight of Creepyworld's haunted attractions. Created by a team of Hollywood artists and set designers, Silo-X showcases special effects realistic, gory imagery, and intense horror.

A discount will be given to any haunted house attendees who donate a coat to the former St. Louis NFL quarterback Kurt Warner's coat drive, 'Warner's Warm Up.' Creepyworld will accept and match donations to 'First Things First,' Kurt Warner's St. Louis based charity.

Creepyworld offers a children friendly version of their haunted adventure on Saturdays and Sundays in October from 1pm until 5pm. The haunted fun includes a hayride, corn maze, caramel apples, cider, pony rides, Halloween inflatables and more.

St. Louis' top haunted houses, The Darkness and Creepyworld, offer a combination ticket that can be used any night for a cost of $30 for adults and $20 for children. Tickets as well as combinations with haunted house merchandise are available for sale on their website.

The Graveyard

North St. Louis County's outdoor haunted house, The Graveyard, is a haunted walk through the dark and scary woods. The Jamestown Sport Complex, a half mile south of the Jamestown Mall, is the outside location for this haunted graveyard.

Dates:
Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays in October, 2007
Hours: Opens at dark
Admission: $15; A buy one ticket get one free coupon is available from their website.

Twisted Minds

Richwoods, Missouri 63071

Twisted Minds haunted house and haunted hayride is situated amongst 16 mobile homes in Richwood, outside of St. Louis. Different scenes of terror and a stalking ghost frighten visitors in the mobile homes turned haunted house. The haunted hayride travels through 45 minutes of terrifying horror across 200 acres, and all proceeds benefit the Richwood Fire Department District.

Dates:
Haunted house is open October 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 20, 26, 27, and 31, 2007. Haunted hayride October 19, 20, 26, 27, 2007.
Hours: 7pm to 11:30pm for both the haunted house and haunted hayride.
Admission: $8 for the haunted house; $4 for the haunted hayride; $11 for both.
