There are several community college choices in the Metro Detroit area. These community colleges are spread out through the tri-county area and offer a variety of degree and certificate programs.

Here is an overview of three community colleges in Metro Detroit, specifically Wayne County, Michigan.

Wayne County Community College District: Wayne County Community College, also referred to as WCCCD is based in Detroit, Michigan. There are five college campuses throughout Wayne County including the main campus in downtown Detroit. Wayne County Community College District offers dozens of academic programs including Accounting, Automotive Service Technology, Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Dental Hygiene and Teacher Education. There are degree and certificate programs.

The tuition rates for Wayne County Community College District are $57.65 per credit hour for WCCCD district residents, $90 per credit hour for other Michigan residents and $120 per credit hour for out-of-state and international students. Henry Ford Community College tuition rates are $65 for Dearborn school district residents, $120 per credit hour for out-of-district residents and $125 for out-of-state residents. Schoolcraft College tuition is $73 per credit hour for residents, $107 per credit hour for non-residents, $160 per credit hour for out-of-state and international students.
