Vacations are a great time to reconnect with our loved ones, friends, and family members. Most importantly vacations are a time to relax and renew ourselves. Many people have a hard time relaxing, and getting away from their daily routine. A great way to start a vacation is be as prepared as possible for the unexpected. One thing you do have control over while traveling is the clothing that you bring with you. Below are 3 reasons why you should always pack a large scarf in your carry on bag.

Airplane travel

Due to the security check points, and always changing regulations with the airline industry, expect to wait. You will be waiting at some point during your trip in a cold air conditioned airport. Problems such as delays, missed flights, or even having to check things that you planned to take on board. With all of these things that could possibly happen while traveling, you should at least be as comfortable.

A large scarf can keep you warm, while you wait, and throughout your flight. Do not depend on the airline to have a blanket for you on long flights. Layering a light silk scarf under a thicker scarf in a heavier material will keep you warm on your flight. You can wear the heavier scarf throughout the airport and throw the lighter scarf in your carry on bag, or use it to tie your hair back.

Attractions

A day as a tourist is exciting. With planned events such as shows and tours, you never quite know what to expect. The itinerary does not inform you that the art museum is kept at 50 degrees in August. The tour will not stop if it starts to rain, or if the wind picks up.

Car Trips

During road trips, or any long trip by car, expect to not look perfect. With the many bathroom breaks, and food stops you may spill something. Your air conditioner might go out, or the heat may not be working properly. In any event that you sweat out of an outfit, a long scarf can be tied in several different ways to disguise the sweat stains. In the event of being colder than expected, a scarf is a great layering piece on the neck and head. Even a light silk fabric can help to keep out the cold. In the event your hair style is completely ruined due to sweating, wrapping your hair in a silk scarf for a few hours may help it to become presentable.

Part of the excitement about traveling, is that you never know who you will meet. An introduction could lead you to a party, dinner, or to meet a new life long friend. You simply will never know where the day is going to take you. In the event of a wardrobe mishap, or change of temperature, a beautiful scarf can help you to instantly look pulled together.
