Guide to Valentine's Day Weekend in Northeast Ohio
Romantic Train Ride
Take your sweetheart for a romantic train ride on Friday, February 12. The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad is hosting That's Amore! A Taste of Italian Wines. Sample five Italian wines, served with hors d'oeuvres from 7-9 p.m. Coach seats are $55 per person, first class seats in the Cuyahoga Inn are $75 per person, and executive class seats are $90 per person.
Wine Trail
Take a tour along the Vine's & Wines Wine Trail. The Chocolate is for Lovers Wine Trail on February 12 and 13th 2010 sends you and your loved one from one mouthwatering chocolate and wine stop to the next. Tickets are $45 a couple, $35 for a single ticket. A pretty wine glass is given to each participant to use on the trip and to remember the occasion for years to come.
Weekend Package
For a pricier event, consider making reservations at The Lakehouse Inn and Winery in Geneva-on-the-Lake. Their upcoming Chocolate & Wine Lover's Weekend package includes two nights' lodging, a three-course dinner with Ohio wines, and a bottle of Lakehouse Inn wine.

Ice Festival
On the other end of the pricing spectrum, head out to Medina for their annual Ice Festival. Admission is free on the quaint historic public square from February 12-15th, 2010. See the beautiful artwork created when ice carvers compete. After walking through the displays, stop in to Marie's Café for something hot to drink and some treats, or stay in Medina for drinks at Sully's Irish Pub, or have dinner at The Main Street or the House of Hunan depending on your tastes.www.OhioWines.org for more information and a list of participating wineries.
