Kindred the Embraced
When watching this show you feel like its The Godfather except their vampires. Only ran for eight seasons but that was because I'm guessing when Mark Frankel died they just canceled the series. It's a shame and I give kudos to Mark Frankel he was wonderful as Julian.
Year: 1996
Cast: C. Thomas Howell, Stacy Haiduk, Mark Frankel, Channon Roe, Jeff Kober, Brian Thompson, and Kelly Rutherford.
Plot: Based on the role-playing game Vampire Masquerade. Julian Luna is the vampire prince of the city and he has faithful followers but the Brujah don't like him so Eddie Fori the leader of the Brujah's always tries to start a war.
Forever Knight
Totally my favorite vampire series besides Angel. Sadly it only ran for three seasons I wish they could have made at least two more. The Second Season is my favorite and I think Lucian Lacroix is the best character ever. I thank the Chiller channel which got me into watching it. So after so many years I finally get to learn why Forever Knight is actually a pretty good show.
Year: 1989 (TV movie with Rick Springfield) 1992-1996 (TV show with Geraint Wyn Davies)
Cast: Geraint Wyn Davies, Catherine Disher, Nigel Bennett, and John Kapelos.
Plot: 800 year old Nick Knight wants redemption so he becomes a Toronto Cop while Nick battles thugs he also has to battle Lacroix his master who never seems to leave him alone.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Pop Culture was never the same after this show; it was Buffy mania around the world. Even though I like the earlier seasons it was a still great show.
Year: 1997-2003
Cast: Sarah Michelle Gellar, Nicholas Brendon, Anthony Head, Alyson Hannigan and James Marsters.
Plot: Buffy Summers moves to Sunnydale she there learns that she is a Slayer who has to protect the world against vampires, demons, and other sorts. With help from her friends Willow and Xander they protect Sunnydale. While fighting vampires she tries to live a normal life which doesn't always work.
Angel
The spinoff of Buffy, Angel finally gets his own show. I've actually always been a fan of Angel more than Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Both were really good though. Angel is probably the first real vampire series I got into. So it holds a special place in my heart.
Year: 1999-2004
Cast: David Boreanaz, Alexis Denisof, J August Richards, Charisma Carpenter, and Amy Acker.
Plot: Angel is a vampire with a soul who wants to help the world and get redemption from all his evils he as done. So he makes a business called Angel Investigations with his friends Doyle (Sadly Glenn Quinn died in the beginning of Angel) Cordelia, Gunn, Winfred, and Wesley. Also the Lawyer Company Wolf & Hart is always trying to destroy him.
Dark Shadows
The Original Gothic Vampire Soap Opera. Barnabas Collins makes Soap Opera ten times cooler. So Barnabas you're just as popular as Dracula.
Year: 1966-1971
Cast: Jonathan Frid, Grayson Hall, Nancy Barrett, Kathryn Leigh Scott, and David Selby.
Plot: Dark Shadows follows the strange happenings to the Collins Family and their surrounding friends. The show of course as Vampires aka Barnabas Collins, Witches, Werewolves even and other weird supernatural things. Definitely not you're average Soap Opera. The show even spawned movies that's how popular it was.
Moonlight
This show didn't last long but I didn't think it was terrible. I wonder why it didn't stay on the network around that time Vampire phenomenon was huge. I suppose not a huge loss it would have been canceled by now anyway with the way shows go. I think they should have given it another season to see the first, sometimes shows get worse the more season and sometimes shows get better. We will never know.
Year: 2007-2008
Cast: Alex O'Loughlin, Sophia Myles, and Jason Dohring.
Plot: Mick St. John is a vampire who is a private investigator and who also falls for a mortal woman.
Blood Ties
I never watch anything on the lifetime channel but this show I did. I think it was the vampire Henry Fitzroy that kept me coming back or it was because I found the books very enjoyable. Either way I think Blood Ties was the only good thing that ever came out of the Lifetime Channel.
Year: 2007-2007
Cast: Christina Cox, Dylan Neal, Gina Holden and Kyle Schmid.
Plot: Vicki Nelson is a private investigator who teams up with Henry Fitzroy who is a 480 year old vampire and in Toronto she solves unusual crimes.
Ultraviolet:
A BBC series that is interesting and is only one season. There is a movie I guess it's based on this series but isn't really like it at all in my opinion. I don't know maybe I'm being too critical.
Year: 1998
Plot: Michael Colefield is thrust into a nightmarish world of vampires when he discovers a secret government organization.
Cast: Jack Davenport, Colette Brown, Fiona Dolman, Idris Elba, and Susannah Harker.
Trinity Blood:
My favorite anime vampire series. I have to say my sister had me watching this.
Year: 2005
Cast: Hiroki Touchi, Mamiko Noto, Tôru Ôkawa and Yoshinori Fujita.
Plot: In a futuristic world a superhuman priest tries to secure peace between humans and vampires.
True Blood:
Probably the most popular vampire series at this moment
Year: 2008
Cast: Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Jim Parrack, and Ryan Kwanten.
Plot: About Sookie Stackhouse a barmaid living in Louisiana who can read people's minds and about how her life becomes different after meeting the vampire Bill.
Hellsing
Another anime that is pretty sweet.
Year: 2001-2002
Cast: Nakata, Yoshiko, Sakakibara, Fumiko Orikasa
Plot: A British task force led by the daughter of Van Helsing battles the supernatural with the help of two vampires.
Blade the series
Not the best they could have done with Blade. It's not terrible but it's not perfect. Blade worked and the rest of the characters were annoying in my opinion.
Year: 2006
Cast: Sticky Fingers, Jill Wagner, Neil Jackson, and Nelson Lee.
Plot: Krista Starr returns from Iraq to learn that her twin brother Zack has died while she searches she meets Blade and the killer himself Marcus Van Schiver. Blade is also enemies with Marcus Van Schiver so that's why he aids her.
Blood +
This anime series was not my favorite but I didn't hate it. I think Trinity Blood was better but don't single this one out.
Year: 2005-2006
Cast: Kari Wahlgren, Ben Diskin, Crispin Freeman, Steve Blum
Plot: A young girl named Saya who was once a normal girl learns more about her life by a man named Hagi. Also about Red Shield a group that kills Chiropterans blood sucking creatures.
Being Human:
A cool slick BBC series that is a comedy and drama all mixed in on. There is supposed to be an American version too not surprising.
Year: 2008
Cast: Russell Tovey, Lenora Crichlow, Aidan Turner
Plot: The series is about twenty-something characters who share a house in Totterdown, Bristol. They try to lead a normal life but it's hard because one is a vampire, the other is a ghost and another is a werewolf.
Blood Ties:
A TV movie well I suppose to be a fox show but didn't make it. So it's a TV movie. That happened to Forever Knight too when it was first aired hence Rick Springfield. Okay it's a mixture of horror and comedy.
Year: 1991
Cast: Michelle Johnson, Jason London, Patrick Bauchau, and Harley Venton
Plot: A story about a modern vampire family who hail from the Carpathian Mountains. The family tries to live normally in Long Beach, California however their lives are upset when a group of vampire hunters kill one of their kin and the come after them.
Dracula: The Series:
To tell the truth I only added it because Geraint Wyn Davies is Klaus Helsing in here thought that was cool but yeah this show is a great kid's show so find it and have some family time but don't just mistake this as a kid series.
Year: 1990
Cast: Mia Kirshner, Bernard Behrens, Geordie Johnson, and Geraint Wyn Davies.
Plot: Two American kids go live with their Uncle who is a vampire hunter. They go against Dracula who is reborn as an Industrialist.
The Lair
I've never heard of it and never saw it. So I can't judge. It ran for three seasons so it can't be too terrible or can it?
Year: 2007-2009
Cast: Dylan Vox, David Moretti, Colton Ford, and Brian Nolan.
Plot: The Lair is a gay club where vampires feed off their clients and Reporter Thom Etherton is on the case. The subplot I read is about a young woman who is trying to leave her abusive boyfriend. Either way it's vampire show so it has to be on this list even if it's classified as a campy soap opera.
Vampire Diaries
I'll admit I'm not a fan of this show but I added it anyway since it is a vampire series. That's just my opinion and if you like the show that's great it's very popular and I hope it runs many seasons for you.
Year: 2009
Cast: Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, and Ian Somerhandler.
Plot: About a high school girl who is torn between two vampire brothers Damon and Stefan.
So those are the vampire shows that we love or we hate. My sources are wikipedia.org, imdb, and vampires.com a website that was cool and I never knew there was one.

Post a CommentDon't forget Lifetime Channel's Blood Ties. That was actually a good show. It aired roughly about 5 years ago for 2 short seasons, rather than 1 long season. I thank the chiller channel too for getting you to see Forever Knight - nothing beats FK. I ain't a fan of Vampire Diaries either lol.
