Guilty Pleasure - Facebook Wrestler

Jason Willis
I'm new to Facebook. I'll admit I don't even take advantage of its features as a social networking tool. Being quite honest I use MySpace for that. Facebook, however, has these wonderful add-ons called applications. Most of them are very basic games that you can play with friends and other Facebook subscribers.

I found an application that is right up my alley. It's called Wrestler by StreamStreet, Inc. Like a lot of applications Facebook allows you to add them but tell you straight out they did not create them and there can be some compatibility issues. Be that as it may this one is just loads of fun.

The game is pretty simple: You create and character and earn "wrestler bucks" by winning matches. Once you acquire enough money you can use it to buy new move and avatars, basically upgrading your character as you go along and gain experience. I have been playing for about two months and I am hooked. While users claim there is some level of strategy involved, I find like most other applications a lot is based on luck.

There are some drawbacks. The application has heavy traffic and it subject to what I like to call "white-outs" where you either get a blank white screen or you get an error message. This part of it sucks. But the cool stuff far outweighs the bad.

You can create stables with friends or other users. Stables can challenge each other. As it stands you can only challenge a friend or another person that is ranked within five points of you. But with the stable challenge you have the opportunity to face people you might not ordinarily get the chance to face.

You can wrestle for championships. Each network has a champion, each county has a champion and then there is the ultimate prize: The coveted Facebook Championship! It is a lofty goal and you have to be ranked high enough to get a title shot and there are currently about 10,000 users.

So if you like pro wrestling at any level and you are a Facebook user, I suggest adding this application. Just be prepared to get wrapped up in the fun!

Glad to see this on here because I had no idea they had it. I'm a big wrestling fan so this is right up my alley.
