Guinness World Record: Largest Hawaiian Shirt

If you want to see the world's largest Hawaiian Aloha Shirt you can view it at the Hilo Hattie Store in Honolulu, Hawaii. The location of this store is 700 North Nimitz Highway.

The Aloha shirt measures 168 inches around the chest (14 feet) and 161 inches at the waist and more than 60 inches around the neck. Koa wood coasters were used as the buttons for this large shirt. The size of the World's Largest Hawaiian Shirt is 400XL ! It took a total of 26 yards of fabric to make this amazing shirt.

Hilo Hattie opened it's first store on the island of Kaui. The store was named after Clarissa Haili, an entertainer who used the stage name "Hilo Hattie" in the 1950's and 60's. There are many stores on the islands of Oahu, Big Island, Kauai and Maui. When entering the Hilo Hattie store you are greeted with a shell lei and offered a tropical Hawaiian juice. The next thing you see is the World's Largest Hawaiian Shirt. Feel free to take pictures in front of the shirt. The certificate from the Guinness World Book of Records is encased next to the shirt.

In addition to selling beautiful Hawaiian apparel for the whole family, they sell Cd's, soaps, candy, coffee, and other souvenirs. Check some of the discount booklets called "This Week" or "Oahu Gold" for a coupon for a free coffee mug or box of chocolates with purchase. There are also two sheets of coupons available with any purchase. One sheet of coupons is for various activities in Oahu and the other sheet is coupons for restaurants in Oahu. You will have to ask for these coupon sheets, they don't automatically give them out. These two sheets will save you lots of money.

There is a free shuttle bus from Waikiki to the Hilo Hattie Store on Nimitz Highway. It runs everyday, approximately every 20 minutes. If you want to do some more shopping at a different place, the shuttle bus will be happy to drop you off at the Aloha Tower Market Place or at the Ala Mona Shopping Mall . This drop off is also a free service.
