As with all other versions of Guitar Hero, Guitar Hero 3 for the Wii comes with a guitar controller. The guitar for the Wii is different than any other system, and it has quite a few extra features. Most importantly, the Wii remote fits securely into the guitar, making it possible for Guitar Hero 3 to use the rumble and sound features provided by the Wii remote. Anytime a wrong note is played a sound is played on the remote's speaker, making it obvious that you screwed up. Another reason the Wii remote is used is that the guitar attaches to the base of the remote. Because the guitar does not have any of the wireless communication devices included with the other system's guitars, Guitar Hero 3 sells for a lower price on the Wii.
Guitar Hero 3 is also the first Guitar Hero game to have online play and downloadable content. Unlike on the Xbox 360 where you have to pay to play online, on the Wii it is completely free to play multiplayer online. All you have to do is create an account, and you can begin playing online with friends or strangers. The only downside to Guitar Hero 3 for the Wii is that there is still no downloadable content. Downloads are still expected to be added to the game, so hopefully the Wii version will soon be equal in that aspect.
Overall Guitar Hero 3 for the Wii is amazing. The song selection is great, and the differences in difficulty makes it fun even if you have never played Guitar Hero before. As your skill progresses it is easy to change the difficulty and challenge yourself a little more. One of the best reasons to get Guitar Hero 3 for the Wii is that it is cheaper. The Wii version retails for $10 less than the other systems, making it a better deal. If you are looking for a great game for yourself or your kids then Guitar Hero 3 is the Wii game for you!
