Guitar Hero Aerosmith

Upcoming Videogame Takes Fresh New Approach to the Series

The Guitar Hero series continues to gain popularity with each installment. Guitar Hero II really made this series a household name. The highly anticipated third game is actually the fourth installment (counting the Rock the '80s edition). GH3 introduced Slash as a character and was the first time that they mimicked the movements of an actual musician. In the newest addition, Guitar Hero: Aerosmith which is set to release on June 29th, they will again mimic the movements of Joe Perry and Steven Tyler.

Both musicians were excited to join with the franchise. Depleting record and ticket sales made it an easy decision to get involved with the game. Hopefully the popularity of the game will introduce Aerosmith to a whole new generation of fans.

This is the first Guitar Hero game that will focus on one band and follow their career. It will start at the first venue that the band played at all the way through their Superbowl halftime show.

While the game will mostly focus on Aerosmith songs, it will have songs that the band covered and artists that influenced the group. The Kinks, Stone Temple Pilots, Ted Nugent, and Joan Jett will all have songs that are featured in the game.

The series will stick to the same format and will have the features found in Guitar Hero 3. While this formula has worked extremely well in the past, it's expected to be just as popular with this edition. If Aerosmith is able to find a whole new fan base it could inspire other bands to follow in their footsteps. There's no saying what sort of trend that this could create.
