Most hardcore fans of Guitar Hero will agree, one of the last entries to join the long line of Guitar Hero games, Band Hero, wasn't exactly what rocking on a guitar was all about. The selection of pop tunes on Band Hero, although mostly popular hits on top 40 radio, were certainly not rock, or guitar worthy in many minds. It's arguable by many, that it was an entirely different product with a different goal, but none-the less; fortunately, Guitar Hero: Van Halen was fresh on most console playlists as an admirable holdover.
Earlier this late Spring/Early Summer, Guitar Hero games publisher, Activision, announced that Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock was on the way. The title that is scheduled to arrive in Stores on 9/28/2010 for the Microsoft Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, and Sony Playstation 3, returns to its roots for hard rocking music, action, and fun.
Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock will arrive ready to entertain with a reported 90+ tracks available for immediate rock & roll play. Featured artists include Black Sabbath, Slipknot, Megadeth, Queen, Muse, Styx, The Ramones, Deep Purple, and KISS. Alice Cooper, who also has featured tracks in the game, has announced that all new versions of classics such as "No More Mr. Nice Guy" have specially been re-recorded for the game. Of additional special interest, it was also announced this past July that Activision has partnered with legendary Rocker's, Rush. As a result of the collaboration, Rush fans will rock with excitement to learn that the seven-part suite from their classic 2112 album will be featured in the game's all-new story-based Quest Mode.
Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock is being published by Activision, and currently has an ESRB rating of RP. Also available at release will be an all new redesigned guitar controller. The title is available now for pre-order on all platforms as a game only retail package, a game bundled with a guitar controller, or a game bundle that will include the game, guitar & drum controllers.
